Lars Åby, born 22 September 1939 , died 1 November 2009 , was a Swedish nature and documentary filmmaker.

He was a nature and documentary filmmaker, who, among other things, depicted the Swedish Ymer expedition in three TV programs in 1980. In 1971, he produced the trilogy Polareskimåer about the Greenlandic Polar Inuit. The films were followed up in 1998 when he made Vision Man together with William Long.

He was married to Inger Åby.
