Great Nature

Giant glaciers and teeming wildlife.

ABOUT

High Arctic Svalbard.

Walruses, the “giants of the Arctic Ocean,” gather in a large group of up to 700 on an island to raise their young. Then a polar bear, the “largest carnivore on earth,” appears. It attacks its young child, but the mother and child walruses sense it and keep running away. Eventually, however, a fierce hand-to-hand battle breaks out between the two. The polar bear desperately attacks its prey to survive, and the walrus fights back with its long, sharp fangs. The battle for life between these giant creatures approaches not only on land, but also from the sky and underwater.
